Flying Machines and Rivers...

Went to Rochester Airport yesterday. Couldn't resist photographing this helicopter. If you are interested in flying machines then pay the airport a visit. it is very photo-friendly and the cafe does a great breakfast.

The other shots were taken between Borstal and Wouldham on the East bank of the River Medway.

Two very different locations....two very different cameras.

On Friday night I stayed behind at the Chatham Historic Dockyard after the masses had left.

Managed to avoid the security staff for just long enough to take the attached pictures.

Nikon D80 on tripod. 30 seconds at F22.

Saturday night..Londres. Burlington Arcade, Fujifilm compact, handheld.

Maybe I'll leave my D80 and kit at home in future.........maybe not!

Camber Sands 27-1-08

Camber Sands and Dury's Gap.

After a long walk along the beach with friends, a cup of tea and some delicious flap-jack the sun was going down and it was time to get the Nikon out.
On the way to Camber I had seen a possible view, but the sun set in the wrong location. Whilst the view of Rye from the Camber road is okay...it's got a lot more potential.
I then returned to Camber and thankfully the sunset got better and better.

On yer bike...

How do you combine a bicycle, photography and a dog? You can't but...dog walked I set off on my bike from Rochester to Sutton Vallence, near Maidstone.

It's amazing what you notice on two wheels instead of four. You are more liable to first spot a possible view and then stop to explore it. This will be the first of many trips I plan to take as the weather improves. Why not leave the car behind. Go green, get fit and hopefully take a few more photographs.

Canary Wharf- 5th january 2008

Canary Wharf-East London.

Another location well worth a visit that I havent made the most of. Best visited at the weekend when there are less people about. Great for architectural photography and abstracts.
